Biography



Jerry Newman
Class of 2009. (Deceased) Jerry became a member in 1937 and was elected to the Executive Board in 1943. He was a football and track official for 40 years. He was very active in Cleveland sporting circles - particularly in the Cleveland Touchdown Club and he is in that organization's Hall of Fame. He worked closely with the Cleveland area coaching fraternity for 27 years as president of Olympic Sporting Goods. After he retired from officiating, Jerry formed an organization for retired coaches and athletic directors (RADCO) which he headed until his death in 1976. He is also in the Greater Cleveland Sports Hall of Fame.
