Biography



Howard Eckert
Class of 2010. Howard joined the CFOA in 1966 and served on the Executive Board in 1972. He was appointed to the New Officials Program Committee in 1974 and was the New Official Coordinator in 1975. He progressed as a college official eventually working in the Big East Conference. He also worked games at Notre Dame. He was the game clock operator for the Cleveland Browns for many years. Howard also was an assigner for college sub-varsity games in the area. He was a willing topic presenter at meetings. He observed and evaluated officials during the OHSAA state tournament. Previously, Howard was elected to the Lake Erie Basketball Officials Association Hall of Fame and also to the Ohio High School Officials Hall of Fame in 2012.
